Edric Kennedy-Macfay, a fire-fighter from
London witnesses seeing a man hurling a rock at a police van. After making a description
of this young man, Kennedy wanted to give the officers the description of the
man.
Their response came as a big shock. Kennedy
claims the police men were swearing at him and dragging him from his car. He
got shot at with a taser and got locked up for many hours.
The officers claimed to be in a stressful
situation because of the partygoers who were throwing missiles.
There are 12
cases of alleged racism going on. Kennedy says it had not been the first time
he has been caught by the police due to his race.
I was also
shocked when I read about the reaction of the police men to Kennedy. I
understand that the police men were in a stressful situation and worried about
their own safety. They could have told him something in a nice way instead of
cursing and using the taser.
I have read many
cases about discrimination among police men. I haven’t witnessed this personally,
but I think it has to stop right away! If the police men aren’t following the
law and discriminating citizens while they are working, are they reliable
enough to do their work?
